Von Beginn des Buches wird eine Spannung aufgebaut, die den meisten Thrillerautoren vergönnt ist, so dass Fitzek seinem Namen als meister des Psychothrillers mal wieder alle Ehre macht. Mit Splitter erzählt er eine Geschichte, der großen Verwirrungen. Was ist wahr, was geschieht nur in der Fantasie des Protagonisten, wem kann er noch vertrauen?

Die Verschleierung, die dieses Buch so lesenswert macht, kann ihm auch leider zum Verhängnis werden, so dass sich mancher Leser wünschen mag, der Erzählkunst dieses hervorragenden Autors besser folgen zu können.
