Die Bestseller-Autorin Michelle Rowen wurde in Toronto, Kanada geboren. Als Kind hatte sie noch drei Berufswünsche: Stewardess, Juwelendiebin und Schriftstellerin. Inzwischen hat sie sich bekanntlich für einen der drei entschieden, und ihrem Erfolg nach zu urteilen war diese Entscheidung genau richtig. 2007 wurde sie mit dem Holt Medaillon für das beste Erstlingswerk ausgezeichnet. Darüberhinaus ist sie die diesjährige Vizepräsidentin der Toronto Romance Writers. Ihr Alter Ego Michelle Maddox (u.a. “Countdown”/ Dorchester Shomi 2008) war für den Romantic Times Reviewer’s Choice Award nominiert. Rowen bezeichnet sich selbst als Suchtleserin und ist an allem interessiert, was mit “Buffy – Im Bann der Dämonen” zu tun hat. Die Autorin lebt heute im südlichen Ontario.
Rowens Spezialität sind Liebesromane und Fantasy-Romane. Sie beschäftigt sich viel und gern mit Übersinnlichem, was sich in ihren Werken wiederspiegelt. Bekannt wurde sie durch ihre Immortality Bites-Serie (Band 1-4) rund um die Hauptakteurin Sarah Dearly, die über Nacht zum Vampir wird, erschienen in den Jahren 2006 – 2009 bei Grand Central Publishing. Doch dabei soll es nicht bleiben, in diesem Jahr sind u. a. noch folgende Neuerscheinungen geplant: Immortality Bites Band 5 “Tall, Dark & Fangsome”, das erste Buch der Jugend-Fantasy-Buchreihe Demon Princess “Reign or Shine” (bei Walker Books for Young Readers) sowie der Liebesroman “Hot Spell” (bei Harlequin Blaze).
Auf deutsch erschienen und ein durchschlagender Erfolg sind bisher die Titel der Immortality Bites-Serie “Ein Anfang mit Biss”, “Ein bisschen verliebt” und “Ein Happy End mit Biss” bei Blanvalet, alle im Jahr 2009. Im November folgt der vierte Band “Ein Sarg für zwei”.
